Catalog description

Through focused lectures, readings, and activities, students will learn the history of the past 500 years “from the outside in,” that is, through a dynamic focus on how individual events and individual life stories illuminate the larger story of globalization and modernity. This advanced course has two overarching objectives: first, to prepare students enrolled in Educator Preparation Programs (EPPs) for the world history section of the Praxis examination, and second, to develop the historical skills and knowledge necessary to become impactful social studies teachers. PREREQ: HST 1010 or HST 1020 or HST 1150
