Catalog description

Crosslisted: AIS 2030 The purpose of this course is to provide a fundamental understanding of the museum industry and museum best practices. This coursework will be instructed through the lens of tribal museums and cultural heritage institutions. This course will prepare students to understand how stewardship, leadership, and cultural understanding are instrumental in advancing and sustaining the models of tribal museums. Through reading, discussion, and experiential assignments, students will learn basic skills and best practices in collection management, curation, museum education, and other related areas for tribal museums and cultural heritage institutions.
