Catalog description

This course is an introduction to the role of microbes in the environment. Emphasis will be placed on organisms that are important to ecosystem function, those that serve as indicators of environmental health, and those used in bioremediation. Protists and microscopic multicellular organisms will be emphasized, as will skills in field collection, identification, and light microscopy. Lecture and Field Laboratory. PREREQ: BIO 1000 with a C or better
