Elementary Science

Catalog description

This course examines scientific processes and pedagogies for developmentally appropriate science instruction in grades K-6. Candidates analyze current standards, research, instructional practices, technology, and materials to design balanced, effective science lessons. Emphasis is placed on research-based theories and best practices that support learners’ understanding of life, physical, earth/space sciences, as well as health sciences, while fostering inquiry, problem-solving, and conceptual understanding.
