Catalog description

This course is designed to provide an in-depth study of science processes and pedagogies that support developmentally appropriate instruction in process skills and science concept understanding in the elementary school classroom. Current standards, research, educational practices, and instructional materials are analyzed in relation to a comprehensive, balanced approach to science instruction. Teacher candidates critically examine research‐based theories and best practices that support children’s developing science skills and understanding of concepts in life, physical, earth/space science, and health/wellness. Admission to Educator Preparation Program and Field Experience Required. PREREQ: ELE 3040 and RDG 3060
