In this course, candidates will explore the legal aspects of educational leadership, focusing on the essential laws and policies that govern school administration. The course will delve into federal and state constitutional provisions, statutory mandates, judicial decisions, and the policies set by governing boards that directly impact education. It provides school executives at all levels with a comprehensive knowledge base, enabling them to research, analyze, and apply legal principles to real-world educational challenges. Candidates will examine legal issues related to school organization, administration, and employment law, with an emphasis on understanding how constitutional, statutory, and case law frameworks shape school operations. Through the analysis of education laws and policies, candidates will develop the ability to incorporate legal considerations into effective school administrative decision-making.
