Catalog description

This course provides students with knowledge of the philosophical, historical, sociological, legal, financial and structural foundations of education with opportunities to analyze contemporary issues, problems and trends in the field of education. Course activities and field assignments develop professional dispositions for educators designed to nurture the professional teaching disposition for critical reflection relating to teaching. Successful completion of this course requires field experience assignments and a course grade of B- or better. Required for admission into the Teacher Education Program. Field experience required. PREREQ: 15 semester hours and a 2.7 GPA
