Catalog description
This course covers descriptive, diagnostic, data mining, and visualization tools and techniques featured in software such as EXCEL, Tableau, and Microsoft Power BI. Topics include data types, identifying trends and relationships in data; generating, analyzing, and reporting descriptive, diagnostic, and data mining results, data sourcing and preparation for visual analytics, setting clear framework for a data visualization task, generating different types of charts and graphs using both static and live datasets, interpreting information contained in a visual context, outputting and sharing visualized data, and reporting the analysis results of visualized data for decision making. PREREQ: A “C” or better in MAT 1070 or in DSC 2090
