Catalog description

This foundational course provides a comprehensive understanding of computer architecture from arithmetic logic unit design to memory organization with an emphasis on assembly-level programming and machine code representation. This course covers topics related to MIPS32 architecture including, but not limited to, instruction set architecture, arithmetic design, machine language, assembly language, addressing modes, file structures, I/O, memory management, assemblers, linkers, and loaders, datapath and control, pipelining, and memory hierarchy. PREREQ: C or better in CSC 1760 or CSC 2050
