Small Farming Systems

Catalog description

Students will learn the agricultural production systems associated with small farms, including crop production and livestock management. The course will address animal and plant crop integration strategies integral to the success of small farms including; crop rotation, pest management, and soil regenerative techniques. The course requires the synthesis of a small farm management plan with regard to product identification, marketing, livestock integration, and crop production. Lecture and laboratory. PREREQ: BIO 1000 with a C or better, MAT 1070
