Catalog description

Using a content- and project-based approach, this course develops reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills with emphasis on spoken fluency and academic writing. Students engage with authentic Vietnamese materials -- including newspapers, essays, poetry, short stories, and film -- across cultural themes such as economy, performing arts, and religion. Through discussions, collaborative projects, and literature circles, students refine advanced grammar, expand academic vocabulary, and build confidence producing and comprehending Vietnamese across multiple genres and registers.
