Catalog description

This course is aimed at advanced undergraduate and MS students as a 'bridge' between an introductory probability course (like STOR 435 ) and an advanced measure-theoretic probability course (like STOR 634 ). Several topics, including laws of large numbers, central limit theorems, elementary large deviation and concentration of measure, modes of convergence, martingales and Markov chains, will be covered (in a non-measure-theoretic way) to introduce students to advanced probabilistic reasoning.
