Financial Mathematics for Actuarial Science.

Catalog description
This course develops the mathematical tools used to evaluate and manage financial transactions over time. Students will study interest theory, annuities, loan repayment schemes, and bond valuation, along with selected topics in risk management and derivative instruments. Emphasis is placed on modeling cash flows, analyzing investment projects, and understanding the principles that underlie pricing and reserving in insurance and finance. The course serves both as preparation for the SOA Exam FM and as a gateway to advanced actuarial coursework in life contingencies, financial economics, and asset-liability management.
