Catalog description

Required by accreditation standards for doctoral training in clinical psychology, this course adopts a widely cited and empirically supported multicultural counseling framework to address group differences or diversity in clinical science. Using a cultural humility stance, students will expand their (1) awareness of their own assumptions, values, and biases regarding diversity; (2) knowledge about the worldview of clients from a diversity of backgrounds; and (3) competence in using therapeutic skills that address client diversity.
