Introduction to Community Engaged Research.

Catalog description

This course introduces students to Community Engaged Research (CER), a research approach in which researchers directly engage and partner with community members throughout the research process, from developing questions to designing and conducting studies to produce rigorous academic research and build power for communities. The semester is divided into three modules. In the first module, students will learn the main pillars of CER. In the second module, students will apply the skills learned in the first module to major concepts in political science. The third module is dedicated to learning from community organizers and partners across a range of issues.
