Catalog description

Surveys impact our lives in more ways than most people realize. Among other things, surveys allow us to predict who will win elections, determine how congressional districts are drawn, understand what the public wants from their elected leaders, and measure macroeconomic trends. This course examines how surveys are used in society, teaches students how to design and implement their own surveys, and provides training in how to analyze, interpret, and communicate survey findings to a broad audience.
