Intended for first-year students of any major, this course explores the role of public policy in shaping the innovation ecosystem where new science and technology emerge and how governments, organizations, and communities influence their development. By looking at contemporary and international case studies, we will examine key issues in the governance of emerging technologies, their ethical dimensions, and the intersection of science with issues like climate change, public health, and national security.
