Catalog description

Intended for upper-level students of any major, this course provides a broad overview of theories of technological change, innovation, and knowledge dissemination. First, we lay the foundation of what technology and innovation are and review theories of technical change based on the notions of competencies, dynamic capabilities, and networks. Then, we discuss how policies shape the innovation ecosystem. Finally, we will explore the geopolitical implications of science and technology. Course previously offered as PLCY 575.
