Catalog description

In this class, you will learn skills and techniques for predicting, evaluating, and mitigating the impacts of land development projects and policy changes to urban infrastructure (water, schools, parks, transportation, stormwater) and ecosystems (wetlands, streams, habitat, climate). You will also develop skills in documenting and reporting your analyses, findings, and recommendations in a competent, professional manner. By analyzing and discussing a wide variety of applications, the course will help you develop an appreciation of the strengths and limitations of various impact assessment approaches. You will also learn to critically approach impact assessment and analyze others' assessments.
