Catalog description
Historic Preservation as a specialty within Urban Planning is a generalist's field, incorporating history, architecture, city planning, environment advocacy, affordable housing, downtown revitalization, neighborhood stabilization and more. Federal, state and local governments play a part, as do private firms, advocacy organizations, and non-profit entities. The purpose of this course is to introduce historic preservation concepts, processes, and policies and the role of historic preservation in the community planning and development process.
