Catalog description

Obesity in the Brain - Neuroscience qPCR Laboratory is a laboratory and research-based course that will expose students to the fundamental and emerging approaches used in RT-qPCR neuroscience research. Students will have the opportunity to delve into the effect of obesity and/or diabetes on the brain. In this course students will learn to handle rodent brains, perform cryostat sectioning, conduct reverse transcription, create a cDNA library, and utilize R programming to analyze qPCR results by studying genes of interest. Students with credit for NSCI 270 -279 may not enroll. Majors only.
