Making Music Happen.

Catalog description

This class is broadly about music teaching, but not exclusively about the formal music teaching that occurs in public and private elementary, middle, and high schools across the U.S. We will embrace an expansive definition of teaching that includes engaging with music as teacher, facilitator, performer, ambassador, and presenter. Because the research and literature in music education and community music is well-developed, we will often borrow strategies and pedagogies that can be applied to nearly any situation to learn and practice how a person can lead others to understand or create music more effectively.
