Advanced Topics in Implementation Science for Global Health.

Catalog description

MPH students need MHCH 728 or an equivalent. BSPH students should have completed EPID 600 and BIOS 600 . There are no strict prerequisites for Doctoral students, though graduate research courses are recommended. This course explores cutting-edge topics in implementation science, including: evidence-based implementation; implementation strategies and mechanisms; fidelity and adaptation; evidence typologies and hierarchies; and use of AI - and examines their contributions toward addressing pressing implementation challenges in global and local public health, including scalability and sustainability. Building on foundational knowledge from MHCH 728 or similar introductory courses, it highlights the development and use of research evidence for successful, scalable, and sustainable implementation, as we seek to achieve health and wellbeing for all. Evolving theories, models, frameworks, and methods for implementation research are emphasized, along with key controversies in the science.
