Women, Children, and Nations: Global Perspectives on Health and Society.

Catalog description

In this course, students will examine how the health of women, children and families shapes and is shaped by nations, cultures, and global systems. Students will apply anthropological, economic, political science, and population health lenses to examine the history of maternal mortality and child survival, global concepts of motherhood/parenthood and childhood, national approaches to family planning and demographic transitions, and the intersections of today's pressing issues, including migration, climate change, and reproductive rights.
