Catalog description

This course focuses on analytical and practical skills needed to test hypotheses using quantitative language data. Analytical topics include study design, statistical analysis, and interpreting results in the context of a hypothesis. Practical topics include tools and methods for working with "big'" language data, as well as statistical programming in R or a similar language. Students will design and carry out an original research study, analyze its results statistically, and present their findings orally and in writing.
