Catalog description
This course trains law students to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and accurately to nonlawyers - a core professional skill. Students will master basic federal and state individual tax rules that are not covered in the basic Income Tax class, including payroll taxes, withholding, tax return obligations, and state property and consumption taxes. Students will also prepare a tax literacy curriculum, and work in groups to simulate teaching, before teaching tax literacy in local high schools.
