Catalog description

Criminal procedure evolves constantly, with novel issues arising regularly. This seminar explores new developments that impact everyone's rights. Topics may include consent searches, technology and big data, privacy concepts, immigration surveillance, traffic stops, and arrests. This course builds upon concepts covered in Criminal Procedure but is open to anyone. Students will be encouraged to evaluate competing interests and research and write about how novel Fourth Amendment issues might be litigated and resolved.
