This graduate course offers public health students an in-depth exploration of key components of health service delivery in the Global South, focusing on complex challenges and innovative solutions for optimizing healthcare in these settings. The course covers various health domains, including sexual and reproductive health, mental health, infectious diseases, non-communicable diseases, and rural health. Additionally, students will delve into the historical evolution of Global Health, tracing its progression from colonial medicine to international health and, finally, contemporary global health, using an anticolonial framework to examine these transitions.
