This course considers global politics from World War II to the present. It covers many events, wars & peace deals you always wanted to learn more about. We begin with Hitler's aggressive wars and explore the great power rivalries of the Cold War. We also explore the geopolitical conflicts from the 1990s, including NATO expansion, to the present. We consider US-Europe-Russia-China relations. We analyze the wars in the former Yugoslavia, the Afghanistan and Iraq wars, the never-ending turmoil in the Middle East, and the Taiwan and Indo-Pacific questions as well as many other global security, economic, trade and energy issues.
