Catalog description

This course will expose students to the broad context through which public health practitioners and researchers understand and address health equity in public health. We will explore the history and evolution of concepts and frameworks relevant to health equity, hear from leading voices in the field (both from the literature and visits to the classroom), and assess a range of approaches used in public health practice and research. The course will also provide students the opportunity to reflect on their prior experiences, refine their emerging interests, and build and practice skills to apply throughout their time at Gillings and beyond.
