This introductory public health course explores how health outcomes are shaped by the environments in which people live, work, and grow. It provides historical and current perspectives on the factors that influence health in both local and global communities. Students will learn how public health professionals engage communities in planning and implementing programs to improve health. The course also introduces the design of public health interventions and the role of research and practice in addressing health challenges across diverse settings.
