Catalog description

German 101 will get you to start developing the four major language skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing in a cultural context. This course will provide you with an expanding set of vocabulary and grammar, as well as cultural knowledge, so that you will feel comfortable conversing in German about a wide range of topics, including your family, your studies, your likes and dislikes, your hobbies, and even historical events. You will learn to interpret German language texts from a variety of sources and enhance your knowledge of cultural differences and similarities between German-speaking countries and your own. Honors version available.
