Freedom Farming.

Catalog description

The objective of Freedom Farming is to understand--in theory and in practice--the relationship between farming, health, and society. To this end we will investigate the history of agriculture's place in various liberation movements; we will also explore contemporary iterations of freedom farming, including urban food forests, guerilla gardening, and eco-villages. In addition to historic and theoretical engagement with freedom farming, we will grow various edible, medicinal, and pollinator-friendly plants. Course previously offered as GEOG 293.
