Catalog description

This course focuses on the critical natural resource of forests that play crucial roles in the environment and society. The course explores forest spatial distribution, its change with time, and the factors affecting its distribution on the Earth's land surface. The course further examines the environmental goods and services forests provide, and how society benefits from them. The course also introduces the theories of sustainable forest management. The overall goal is to provide students with a holistic understanding of forests from both the environmental and societal perspectives (GHA).
