Catalog description

The purpose of this course is to familiarize students with the biological factors underpinning the epidemiology of infectious diseases. Topics will include emerging and endemic viral and bacterial diseases, innate and adaptive immunity, vaccine and therapeutic development, and the public health challenges of infectious disease response. This course is required of all ID epidemiology PhD students, but students may in rare cases exempt out with the permission of the instructor.
