Introduction to Digital Humanities.

Catalog description

This course provides students with an introduction to the landscape of digital humanities history, theories, tools, and methods with a focus on humanities data. We will explore the affordances and constraints of approaches to humanities data in archives and metadata, text analysis, data visualization, mapping, and game studies. Within each of these areas, students will assess leading theories and learn hands-on tools and methods in order to create a digital humanities seminar paper on a topic of their choosing.
