Catalog description
This mixed graduate and undergraduate course selectively surveys recent contemporary theory by asking how certain debates, controversies, or conversations have shaped the terrain of literary and cultural studies in the present day. Though the particular topic of the course will vary, select iterations may involve the diachronic study of influence; the apposition of different methodological approaches; or the survey of recent work in a given area, such as affect theory or postcolonial studies.
