Catalog description

In this class, students will learn the principles of greenhouse gas accounting and how to use them to establish inventories and calculate carbon footprints for products, services, businesses or institutions. We will review the mechanisms of calculating the impact of the most common greenhouse gases, introduce the governing principles for establishing greenhouse gas inventories, as well as the life cycle approach for products and services. Finally, in the last part of the course, we will explore the different types of carbon offsets, including existing and emerging approaches, as well as the risks and opportunities associated with carbon offsets.
