Catalog description

This laboratory class is intended to reinforce concepts taught in the hybrid EMES 449 Dive into Ichthyology offered at the Institute of Marine Sciences as part of the Morehead City Field Site in person and via Zoom at UNC-CH main campus. The lab class involves field trips to sites in coastal North Carolina to collect fishes using a variety of methods. Students will develop skills to identify fishes to Family and learn about the local fish species in NC. Students will also conduct hands-on experiments in the lab to introduce students to fish physiological concepts.
