This is a 1-credit lab focusing on minerals, the building blocks of rocks! Students will have the opportunity to conduct hand-sample and microscope work on rocks from sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic environments. Lab exercises will cover (physical, optical and scanning electron) methods of identifying minerals within a variety of rocks.
