Building on foundational leadership knowledge, this course examines the epistemological assumptions underlying modernist and postmodernist leadership theories. Students critically analyze how power, context, and identity shape leadership discourse and practice, engaging with critical, relational, and complexity-based perspectives. Through rigorous theoretical inquiry and applied analysis, the course challenges students to question whose voices have been centered in leadership scholarship and to develop theoretically grounded approaches that address equity, social justice, and the future of leadership. Ultimately, students synthesize diverse paradigms into a coherent leadership philosophy that integrates critical consciousness with practical wisdom.
