Elementary Practicum: Junior Year Semester 2.

Catalog description

This second-semester practicum offers elementary teacher preparation students the opportunity to visit a classroom weekly to observe a practicing elementary teacher and support their instruction. Students will typically be placed in a different classroom for Junior 2, to have a distinct experience from Junior 1. Readings and class meetings help students make sense of what they see in classrooms and prepare to teach independently themselves after certification. Assignments foster exploration of the students' emerging skills as a teacher and their reflection on their journey into the field. This will have classroom-based activities focusing on science, math, and reading.
