Catalog description

An investigation into the field of mortuary archaeology and the study of ancient funeral practices through archaeological evidence, with attention to themes of sex/gender, religion, culture, identity, and inequality. The course also includes discussion of both ethical and legal frameworks for mortuary archaeology (past and present) and explores different approaches to communicating with the public about mortuary archaeology.
