Topics include an overview of real estate as an asset class in the US economy, risk and return in real estate markets, the economics of discount and capitalization rates, the market for mortgage-backed securities (with a peek into the role that these instruments played in the recent financial crisis), and the valuation/analysis of Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs).
