A global biodiversity crisis is unfolding, and species are going extinct at an alarming rate or experiencing large population declines that impact ecosystem function. This class will enable students to: Understand the nature of the on-going biodiversity crisis, its causes, and its place in life's evolutionary history. Appreciate the problems and approaches to studying the biodiversity crisis. Gain hands-on experience identifying biodiversity and working with biodiversity data. Debate and evaluate alternative solutions to biodiversity loss.
