University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
Embryology to Biomedical Frontiers offers insightful exploration of developmental biology, tracing life from a single-cell zygote to a fully formed organism. The course emphasizes molecular and cellular processes in animal development, supported by experimental evidence. Students will investigate how advancements in developmental biology inform biomedical research, human biology, and disease mechanisms. Use of genetic animal models will illustrate how complex biological processes are uncovered, highlighting the interplay between developmental biology and innovations across various disciplines.
