Catalog description

This graduate-level course explores the molecular underpinnings of biological function through the lens of macromolecular structure, dynamics, and regulation. Divided into two thematic blocks, the course first examines principles that govern the structure and dynamics of biological macromolecules, like proteins, nucleic acids, and membranes. The second block focuses on the biochemical regulation of cellular processes, including enzyme mechanisms, signaling pathways, post-translational modifications, and metabolic control. The course integrates core biochemical principles with recent advances in cutting-edge research techniques, providing students with a framework to understand how molecular interactions give rise to complex biological function.
