Catalog description

A fundamental skill in data analysis consultation roles is effective communication with scientific clients who frequently lack statistical expertise. A useful approach to planning such analyses is a dialog which typically reveals what should be done, which is often different from a client's initial ideas. This module aims to teach this skill in a hands-on way, where most meetings will be class discussions with a real client seeking data analytic help. In addition to teaching that valuable communication skill, this module is intended as preparation for enrollment in the course DATA 766 .
