Catalog description

. Students must be fully admitted into the BSW program to enroll in this course. An introduction to the practice methods component of the social work concentration. The knowledge, skills, and value orientations acquired serve as a basis for the field placement practicum. The course focuses upon the nature of social work as a field of study and its methods of intervention. The student is expected to develop a beginning conceptualization of the generic knowledge, values, and skills essential to the practice of social work.
