Catalog description

. This course will provide students with an introduction to the field of African Americamn psychology. Emphasis will be given to such issues as the African/African American worldviews and the manner in which cross cultural systems of social reality impact the African experience in America. The course will cover theories of African/Black personality, psychological health and mental disorder, identity, and family and social relationships. Moreover, the course will discuss issues that impact Africans in America and throughout the Diaspora.
